Early Saturday morning the United States U-20 national team learned who their Round of 16 opponent would be at the U-20 World Cup in New Zealand. Though Colombia lost 3-1 to Group C winners Portugal, Los Cafeteros managed to sneak past Senegal to finish in second place in the group.
The match will be held in Wellington on Wednesday, June 10 (3:30 am ET, Fox Sports 1). Should the Americans emerge victorious, Tab Ramos' side will face the winner a Round of 16 match between Serbia and the top third-place finisher from Groups B, E and F on June 14.
The US finished second in Group A to Ukraine, defeating Myanmar and hosts New Zealand by a combined score of 6-1 before falling 3-0 to the European table toppers.
