The Montreal Impact announced Friday that they have waived midfielder Issey Nakajima-Farran, made official after MLS added his name to its waiver list.
“With the number of additions we’ve made to our squad over the course of the offseason, we had to make this decision in order to give us some flexibility with our salary cap,” Impact technical director Adam Braz said in a statement. “We would like to thank Issey for his service to the club, and we wish him the best of luck.”
The Canadian international came to MLS when he signed with Toronto FC in March of last year and was traded to the Impact in May. He made 13 appearances (five starts) with Montreal and didn’t record a goal or assist.
