Defenders Aaron Maund & Jeremy Hall opt out of Thursday's Re-Entry Stage 2 Draft

Real Salt Lake's Aaron Maund defends Seattle Sounders Kenny Cooper

Defenders Aaron Maund and Jeremy Hall have opted out of MLS's Stage 2 Draft of the Re-Entry Process, according to the league.

Maund, 24, spent the last two years at Real Salt Lake, playing nine league games for the Utah club after being acquired in a trade from Toronto FC ahead of the 2013 season. The 12th overall pick in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft, Maund had his option for 2015 declined by RSL earlier this month.

Hall, 26, has been with Toronto FC for the past three seasons, after stops with the New York Red Bulls, Portland Timbers, and FC Dallas. This past season, he made three appearances for the Reds, and the club declined his 2015 contract option a few weeks ago.

More than 50 players are available for selection in Stage 2 Daft of the Re-Entry Process, which will be held via a teleconference call at 3 pm ET on Thursday. Teams will have seven days to make a bona fide offer to any player selected in Stage 2. If an agreement cannot be reached, the club will hold the right of first refusal for that player in MLS.

Any players not picked up in Stage 2 become available to any MLS club on a first-come, first-served basis.
