As professional athletes go, they don't come much classier than Nick Rimando.


Despite this year setting the all-time MLS record for shutouts in a career, the Real Salt Lake goalkeeper has never won the league's Goalkeeper of the Year award.


That dubious streak continued on Wednesday when D.C. United shot stopper Bill Hamid won the 2014 award, once again leaving Rimando the groomsman but never (up to this point, at least) the groom.


Rimando also missed out on the 2014 Best XI team, and his continued misfortune prompted an outpouring of fan support on social media the past couple of days, leading Rimando to respond thusly on Wednesday:
