Michael Orozco Fiscal for Puebla

GUADALAJARA, Mexico – US international Michael Orozco had a night to forget for Puebla on Friday.

The centerback put a good chance wide with the goal gaping in the 55th minute and was at fault when he missed a tackle near the halfway line, a mistake former Vancouver Whitecaps forward Camilo Sanvezzo took advantage to hand Querétaro the lead in the 89th.

Cuauhtemoc Blanco, 41, netted a penalty in second-half injury time to equalize and give relegation-threatened Puebla a point in a match that will be best remembered for Ronaldinho’s presentation for Gallos Blancos at halftime.

The result leaves Puebla on nine points from its eight games so far this Apertura 2014.

Atlas’ Edgar Castillo was also in action Friday, going 90 minutes in his team’s 1-1 tie on the road to Veracruz.

The left back crossed low in the 29th when he should’ve shot, and fired an effort from a tight angle one minute from time but it was saved by ´keeper Edgar Hernández

Atlas remains comfortably in the playoff places, with 15 points from eight games.

In Mexico’s second division, Marco Vidal went 66 minutes in Mineros de Zacatecas’ 0-0 draw with Mérida, while Juan Pablo Ocegueda completed the full match in Alebrijes de Oaxaca’s 1-0 loss away to Correcaminos.
