AT&T MLS Goal of the Week update: Diego Valeri leads the field in Week 22 race

2014 AT&T Goal of the Week: Week 22

There have been many tight, down-to-the-wire races in AT&T MLS Goal of the Week voting this season.

Week 22 does not appear to be one of them.

With one day left to vote, Portland Timbers maestro Diego Valeri holds a commanding lead on the rest of the field, as his long-range golazo has earned more than 59 percent of ballots cast as of Thursday morning.

San Jose Earthquakes newcomer Matías Pérez García's fine MLS opener sits a distant second with 14.71 percent of the vote. The closest contest is actually for third place, with Darren Mattocks at 8.71 percent, Chris Wondolowski at 8.55 percent and Gilberto of Toronto FC at 8.49 percent.

But whether you believe Valeri's pursuers need a boost or just want to let your voice be heard, there's still time to rock the vote. Make your pick by casting a ballot for your favorite goal before voting ends! The winner is determined by the total number of votes cast online and will be announced on Friday.

Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week — including an archive of all of this season's nominees and winners — click here.
