Wondolowski is one of the ultimate success stories in MLS, going from late-round Supplemental Draft pick and bit-part player to one of the league's most feared goalscorers. After five seasons as a reserve with San Jose and Houston, "Wondo" enjoyed his breakout season in 2010, riding a late scoring surge to 18 goals and the MLS Golden Boot.
He tied for the league lead in scoring with 16 goals in 2011 before his signature season, in which tied the MLS single-season record with 27 goals and led the Quakes to the second Supporters' Shield in team history. He has continued to be one of the league's best poachers in the years since and became the ninth player to break the 100-goal mark with a penalty kick against Orlando City on May 25, 2015.
INTERNATIONAL: Wondolowski earned his first US national team call-up in January 2011, following his breakout season fro the Earthquakes in 2010. He has appeared for the United States in three CONCACAF Gold Cups (2011, 2013, 2015) and was the joint-leading scorer in the tournament as the US captured the 2013 title. He represented the US at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, appearing twice as a substitute. To date, he has 10 goals in 31 appearances for the USMNT.
