Golden State Warrior's Stephen Curry backs Chris Wondolowski to make World Cup team

If making Jurgen Klinsmann's final 23-man squad for this summer's World Cup was simply a popularity contest and nothing more, having Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry in your corner wouldn't be the world's worst public endorsement.

In that sense, San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski is sitting pretty.

Unfortunately for Wondolowski, though, he'll have to catch Klinsmann's eye some other way, despite receiving that kind of support from Curry, who attended the Quakes' most recent home game on Wednesday night against the Colorado Rapids.

Curry was spotted holding up a giant "W" sign, featuring the popular Twitter hashtag #Wondo4Brazil, at one point during the game.

This is the kind of cross-sport support that's great to see between two of a city's top professional athletes. And the love is mutual, as Wondolowski recently turned up to support Curry's Warriors at the tail end of the regular season.
