All-Star: MLS Commissioner selects LA Galaxy's Landon Donovan to replace injured Robbie Keane

All-Star 2013: Landon Donovan

Landon Donovan's streak of consecutive appearances at MLS All-Star games will not end after all.

Donovan has been selected by MLS Commissioner Don Garber as a replacement for injured LA Galaxy teammate Robbie Keane in next Wednesday's 2013 AT&T MLS All-Star Game against AS Roma (9 pm ET on ESPN2, UniMas, TSN/RDS). Keane sustained a left hip flexor strain against the Portland Timbers on July 13 and missed the Galaxy's last match, a 2-1 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps this past Saturday.

"Landon is a great addition to the MLS All-Star team," MLS All-Star head coach Peter Vermes said in a statement. "Obviously his form is fantastic right now and his impact and representation of Major League Soccer throughout his career is immeasurable."

Donovan, whose impressive form has led the US men's national team to Sunday's Gold Cup final against Panama, will now attend his league-record 13th consecutive All-Star game, a record that dates back to his first season in the MLS in 2001.
