SIGNIFICANT INJURIES
Colorado Rapids: Diego Calderón ($5.5m) and Pablo Mastroeni ($5.5m) will miss at least one game after sustaining injuries in the first half of their game against the LA Galaxy. Mastroeni is out with a strained left quadriceps while Calderón, who collided with the post after clearing Jose Villarreal's shot off the line, will miss 4-5 months after undergoing microfracture surgery on Thursday. As a result, look for Chris Klute ($4.4m) to get his first start of the season.
D.C. United: Nick DeLeon ($7.7m) is expected to miss five to six weeks after exiting last weeks' game with a Grade II hamstring strain. Kyle Porter ($4.8m) will likely fill in for the time being.
LA Galaxy: Robbie Keane ($10.5m) did not travel to Toronto with the team. He returned to California to receive treatment for his calf injury.
Montreal Impact: Alessandro Nesta ($5.0m) will miss his second straight game with a right adductor strain. Karl Ouimette ($3.9m) will likely start again in his place. Ouimette (image right) had a good game against the New York Red Bulls last week, scoring seven points in 90 minutes while helping his team secure their second clean sheet of the season. He was two CBIs and one recovery short of receiving two additional bonus points.
New York Red Bulls: Thierry Henry ($10.3m), Fabián Espíndola ($8.9m) and Connor Lade ($4.2m) all have questionable tags this week. Henry has been upgraded from his "Injured" status last week, but both Espíndola's and Lade’s injuries occurred more recently. These three players are owned by a combined 35 percent of managers. If you’re a part of this group, you might want to establish a backup plan, quickly.
Sporting KC: Chance Myers ($5.3m) is close to 100 percent and could be back in the Starting XI for Sporting this weekend. But tread cautiously because Mechack Jerome ($5.0m) might be in line for one more start first.
COSTLY SUSPENSIONS
Colorado Rapids: Drew Moor ($5.4m) was hit with an additional suspension after being red-carded in last week's match against the LA Galaxy for his blow to the face of Marcelo Sarvas. Shane O'Neill ($5.0m) is a likely candidate to fill in.
New York Red Bulls: Brandon Barklage ($5.9m) picked up multiple yellow cards in last week’s match against the Montreal Impact. He will be unavailable for selection this weekend vs. the Philadelphia Union. Kosuke Kimura ($4.3m) will likely slide to right back and Roy Miller ($4.5m) could find himself in a starting role again at left fullback.
KEY NOTES
Colorado Rapids: Edson Buddle ($7.8m) is healthy and wants to play this week even though he's still listed as questionable. Danny Mwanga ($7.2m) is almost ready to return as well.
Houston Dynamo: Kofi Sarkodie ($5.0m) is listed as questionable after suffering a concussion in stoppage time against Vancouver last weekend. Warren Creavalle ($4.5m) would replace him if he can't go.
LA Galaxy: Could potentially rest some starters in preparation for their Champions League game against Monterrey. Landon Donovan ($9.8m) returned to practice and could be in the lineup sooner than you think.
Philadelphia Union: Conor Casey ($7.9m) is healthy and should be in the 18 this week. However, Gabriel Farfan ($4.8m) is still nursing a hamstring injury and will likely be sitting this one out.
Real Salt Lake: With the return of Nat Borchers ($5.3m) to the starting lineup, Kwame Watson-Siriboe ($5.0m) now finds his way to the bench. Abdoulie (Kenny) Mansally ($4.6m) should feature at left fullback over Lovel Palmer ($4.9m) as well.
San Jose Earthquakes: According to head coach Frank Yallop, Justin Morrow ($5.5m) and Víctor Bernárdez ($5.9m) are not a lock to start this weekend. Of the two, Morrow is more likely to play, with Bernárdez going 90-plus minutes in both of Honduras' World Cup qualifying matches.
Seattle Sounders: Obafemi Martins ($9.5m) and Eddie Johnson ($9.9) could start up top together against Real Salt Lake, but Mario Martínez ($7.3m) wasn't at practice on Thursday and could see a limited role as a result. Brad Evans ($7.2m) and Shalrie Joseph ($7.8m) are off the injury report and will be available for selection on Saturday.
Toronto FC: Luis Silva ($7.1m) and Stefan Frei ($4.9m) are officially off the injury report and could be available as early as this weekend. Meanwhile, Júlio César ($6.3m) was waived by the club on Friday. Time to drop if you've got the Brazilian on your roster.
Vancouver Whitecaps: Kenny Miller ($8.0m) will be used as a sub due to his transatlantic flight so look for Erik Hurtado ($5.5m) or Camilo Sanvezzo ($7.7m) to start in his place.
