COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Crew returns to action on Saturday (May 19) against the New York Red Bulls at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Columbus (1-1-4, 7 pts.) is coming off a 1-1 draw at home vs. Chivas USA on May 12, while New York (3-1-2, 11 pts.) is coming off its first loss of the season on Sunday (May 13), when it fell to Colorado, 1-0, at home.


Saturday's match, which kicks off at 7:30 p.m., will be televised live locally on ONN, with Dwight Burgess and Bill McDermott calling all the action and Katie Witham reporting from the sidelines. The game can also be heard in English on The Brew @ 105.7 and on-line on TheCrew.com and MLSNet.com, as well as in Spanish on Radio Sol WXOL 1550-AM.


Guillermo Barros Schelotto made a dynamic home debut vs. Chivas on Saturday and assisted on the Crew's lone goal, scored by Ned Grabavoy, while Alejandro Moreno made his debut in Black & Gold and combined well with Barros Schelotto.


The Crew and Red Bulls are currently tied for the second best goals-against average in the league this season, trailing only defending champ Houston. Columbus and New York have both allowed just four goals in six games (0.67 GAA), stingiest in the Eastern Conference, while Houston has surrendered three goals in five games (0.60 GAA).

ROGERS, SZETELA AND WARD ON U.S. U-20 ROSTER FOR TONIGHT'S GAME VS. ARGENTINA

The Crew trio of Robbie Rogers, Danny Szetela and Tim Ward is on the U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team roster for tonight's match vs. reigning world-champ Argentina in Rochester, N.Y., in preparation for this summer's U-20 World Cup. The match will kick off at 7 p.m. ET and be broadcast live at www.ussoccer.com. Ward suffered a broken nose in the Crew's Reserve Division match on Sunday, but it will not keep him from playing tonight. The U-20s are preparing to compete in the 2007 FIFA Under-20 World Cup, which will take place from June 30-July 22 in Canada. The U.S. has been drawn into Group D of the tournament, along with South Korea, Poland and Brazil. They qualified for the event with a first-place finish in Group A of the CONCACAF Under-20 qualifying tournament held in Panama in January.


OUGHTON EARNS NEW ZEALAND NATIONAL TEAM CALL-UP

Duncan Oughton has achieved another significant milestone in his remarkable comeback from serious knee injuries and experimental surgery, earning a spot on New Zealand National Team manager Ricki Herbert's 19-man roster for a pair of upcoming friendlies. A regular for New Zealand from his July 5, 2002 debut until his initial injury in late 2004, Oughton will rejoin the All Whites for matches at Wales on May 26 and Ukraine on June 6.


"MEET THE CREW" AT BUFFALO WILD WINGS ON BETHEL SCHEDULED FOR WEDNESDAY, MAY 23

The annual "Meet the Crew" event at the Buffalo Wild Wings Grill & Bar on Bethel Road has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 23, from 6-8 p.m. Open to the public, fans will have the opportunity to challenge a player to a game of trivia or simply sit back and be served by a member of the team at Buffalo Wild Wings on Bethel Road (5240 Bethel Center Mall, Columbus, OH 43220), the Crew's Official Away Game Headquarters.


CREW OPEN TRYOUTS SCHEDULED FOR MAY 26

The Columbus Crew will hold open tryouts for the sixth straight year, on Saturday, May 26, at the Value City Furniture Fields at Easton (4475 Sunbury Road, Columbus, OH 43219). The tryout will last all day, with registration beginning at 7 a.m. and the evening session ending at 6 p.m. Select members of the Crew coaching staff will be in attendance throughout the day to assess and evaluate the entire player pool. As part of that evaluation process, the coaching staff will reserve the right to dismiss candidates at any time throughout the day. College players will not be eligible to participate in the tryout due to NCAA regulations. There is no pre-registration and all players that are planning to be in attendance must e-mail Crew assistant coach Mike Lapper at mlapper@thecrew.com.


There will be a $100 administrative fee per player, which must be paid in cash only prior to the first training session and will include two (2) tickets to the Crew's game that night against Toronto FC. All net proceeds from participation in the Crew open tryouts will go to the club's charitable arm, the Crew Soccer Foundation. Individuals wishing to try out are solely responsible for any and all accommodations and transportation they deem necessary. They are also responsible for their own training gear, such as cleats and shin guards and anything else they might need to perform to the best of their abilities. Players must also bring their own ball.


DON'T MISS 'CREW CORNER' THURSDAYS AT 6 and 6:30 p.m. ON CSN

The Columbus Sports Network (CSN) produces and airs a weekly magazine show dedicated solely to the Crew, called 'Crew Corner.' The 30-minute program is refreshed each week with compelling content that is unique and dynamic, including "behind the scenes" perspectives and profiles about players, coaches and team officials; glimpses into the teams' participation in a variety of community and charitable activities; and game and league highlights. Starting this week, each episode of 'Crew Corner' will air first on Thursdays at 6 p.m., and be replayed immediately afterward at 6:30 p.m. In addition, every show will be replayed repeatedly at different times throughout the following seven days to make it conveniently available to fans.
