Chivas USA (1-2-1, 4 pts.) will travel to New England to face the New England Revolution (2-2-1, 7 pts.) this Saturday at 4 p.m. PT (Radio: KTNQ 1020 AM, TV: FSN-PT, Web: MLSLIVE.tv). New England is coming off an impressive 4-0 victory over the L.A. Galaxy putting them at third place of the Eastern Conference. This will be the first official game for Chivas USA in two weeks.
CHIVAS USA EDGES THE SOUNDERS: Chivas USA beat the Seattle Sounders (USL Division 1) 1-0 at Qwest Field last Sunday in an exhibition match played in front of a 5,633 pro-Chiva crowd. A goal by ex-Sounder Brent Whitfield gave the Red-and-White the victory over the USL franchise. The game was also a homecoming match for goalkeeper Preston Burpo, who made his reputation as one of the best players in the USL after playing nine seasons for the Sounders.
SUÁREZ PLAYS IN HIS 175TH GAME FOR MEXICO: Claudio Suárez played 60 minutes in Mexico's 1-0 victory over Venezuela, in an exhibition match at the Rose Bowl on Cinco de Mayo. Omar Bravo's penalty kick was the goal that lifted el Tri in front of 58,147 delirious fans. The game served as a tune-up match for Mexico which starts the World Cup June 12 against Iran.
CHIVAS USA'S UNDER-19 TEAM: The Chivas USA U-19 team won the Futbulito Tournament and raised $2,000 for its trip to Costa Rica in Copa Saprissa this past May 6. Meanwhile, the USA U-19 squad will be playing an exhibition game against Chivas USA's Reserve Team this Wednesday on University Field 1 at 4:30 p.m. PT. The game will come as preparation for the Copa Saprissa in Costa Rica that will take place from May 25 to June 5. The U.S. will face the Under-20 squads of Real Madrid (Spain), Saprissa (Costa Rica), Cruzeiro (Brazil) and Olimpia (Honduras).

CHICAGO FIRE AND A NIGHT OF BOXING: Chivas USA will play its next home game against the Chicago Fire on May 27 at The Home Depot Center. All the action will start at 3:30 p.m. with 'Una Noche de Boxeo' presented by Oscar De La Hoya. The championship bill will include Fernando Montiel vs. Jhonny González disputing the WBO Bantamweight championship and Daniel Ponce De León vs. Alejandro Barrera for the WBO Featherweight championship. GUADALAJARA UPDATE: Club Deportivo Guadalajara, Chivas USA's sister team, advanced to the Liguilla semifinals of the Clausura 2006 Tournament after beating Jaguares de Chiapas by an aggregate score of 6-5 . At the same time, Guadalajara continues their impressive run in Copa Libertadores after defeating Independiente Santa Fe. They will now face Vélez Sasfield of Argentina in quarterfinals play.
CHIVAS USA FUTBOL ACADEMY: The Chivas USA Futbol Academy continues play this week in preparation for this weekend's slate of games in Baldwin Park, with sessions at The Home Depot Center's Field 5 from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday.
