Ronaldo returns vs. Empoli

A July 31 summer training session sidelined Ronaldo who hasn't played since.

MILAN - AC Milan striker Ronaldo is expected to play for the first time this season when the Rossoneri take on Empoli on October 21.

The 31-year-old Brazil international has been out with a muscular injury since July but has now recovered and rejoined his team-mates in training.

"We hope to end Ronaldo's drama after the international break and we may see him play by October 21," said AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani.

AC Milan won 5-1 at Lazio on Sunday to register just their second league victory of the season. They are seven points adrift of Serie A leaders and city rivals Internazionale after seven matches.
