Reserves: N.Y. 0, N.E. 4

The New York Red Bulls Reserves fell to the New England Revolution Reserves by the score of 4-0 on Saturday night at Giants Stadium. New England scored two goals in each half to sink the Red Bulls.

In the 17th minute, Adam Cristman was taken down by Blake Camp as they both jostled for the ball off a Wells Thompson corner and a penalty kick was awarded. Cristman calmly slotted the ball past the diving Jon Conway to give the Revs a 1-0 lead.

Cristman doubled the Revolution in the 20th minute when Camp slipped, allowing Cristman to walk in alone and put it past Conway, giving the Revs a 2-0 lead.

New York came out much stronger in the second half, creating some good opportunities from the whistle. John Wolyniec collected an Elie Ikangu pass on the right and crossed it into the box; Revs keeper Brad Knighton punched it away to a waiting Chris Karcz, who sent the ball over the bar. In the 79th minute, Sinisa Ubiparipovic just missed getting the Bulls on the scoreboard when his bid from 30 yards out was pushed over the bar by Knighton.

The Revs put the game out of reach in the 84th minute when a Wells Thompson corner kick was headed past Bulls keeper Danny Cepero by Sianey Nyassi. New England added another goal in stoppage time as there was a scramble in the box for the ball. The ball popped right to the foot of Abdoulie Mansally who beat Cepero from just outside the penalty area.

The New York Red Bulls' next reserve match will be played next Sunday, September 30 at Montclair State University against Real Salt Lake at 10 AM.
