Reserves: HOU 2, FCD 2

The Houston Dynamo reserves continued with their regular season play today, tying their interstate rivals FC Dallas, 2-2 at Robertson Stadium.

Just like the night's previous game between both squads' first teams, the game was tough and physical, with both teams having several opportunities to score in the first half.

During the second half, the Dynamo continued to be on the offensive, while still being solid on defense. FC Dallas, however, was able to break Houston's defensive wall at the 53rd minute, on a corner kick from the right by Scott Jones. Jones' kick went to the heart of the box, where Andrew Daniels sent it inside with a solid header.

FC Dallas was not done, however. At the 56th minute of play, Abe Thompson would make a run for the opposing goal. In spite of having two defenders closely following him, Thompson was able to beat Jordan James with a solid shot that went close to James' right goalpost.

The Dynamo responded and shortened their deficit at the 70th minute, thanks to a goal by Chris Wondolowski, who put the ball inside Boris Pardo's net from inside the box. Wondolowski's goal was quickly followed by Corey Ashe's first goal with Houston's reserve squad three minutes later. Ashe kicked in a hard shot to Pardo's upper left-hand corner to even up the score.

With the tie, the Dynamo (2-3-2, 8 points) moves ahead of Columbus for seventh place in the standings along with the Hoops (2-4-2, 8 points).

The next game for the Dynamo will be on Sunday, September 2 at 10:00 a.m. against the Kansas City Wizards. FC Dallas will also play on that date and time, but against D.C. United.
