TORONTO FC 2, KANSAS CITY WIZARDS 0

TORONTO FC HEAD COACH JOHN CARVER

On the game:
"Again, a pleasing result and especially, and I might sound a little bit negative here -- but especially the fact that we kept another clean sheet right at the death thanks to Greg Sutton, because that was a match-winning save for us, for me. The fact that he makes that save was crucial. I thought we created all the chances in the first half, and we started the second half well. We stayed strong again and dealt with it. And I think the fans are starting to think this is a fortress, they keep singing "this is our house" well, it is. And I want to make that known to everybody that when teams come here they're going to find it difficult."

On shutting down Lopez:

"I mean, look at Lopez, he's a world class player so that tells you something about our defense, our midfield players and our front end who defended, and kept him quiet. Yet on the other side of that -- on the flip side we had a special player today in Guevara and he showed his class. And what you saw out there, you'll see more of that on a consistent level."

TORONTO FC GOALKEEPER GREG SUTTON

On the game:
"You know my job is try and keep these games in our pockets, and our guys did a great job today defensively again. I think we've grown leaps and bounds from the first couple of games, and we've done a good thing."

TORONTO FC MIDFIELDER CARL ROBINSON

On depth of squad:
"In soccer you need a good squad, it's not about 11 players over here, it's about your 18 boys on your senior roster and 10 younger lads as well. The young lads will have a part to play on the team this season as well. You don't rely on the 11 boys, we all know that we're a good group, we all get on off the field as well which helps and you need competition for places because there's going to be Olympic qualifying, international matches ... and there's going to be people away."

TORONTO FC MIDFIELDER AMADO GUEVARA

On playing against Lopez:
"It's the first time I've played against Claudio Lopez, and for me it's about pride and pleasure to play against players that have that stature and are coming to the league to raise that quality and the game."

On the free kick:
"Laurent and I usually look at the ball, and the position and who has the better shot at the net, last week it was Laurent, and this week he looked at me and told me I had a better shot. I took it and thankfully it went to the right place."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS HEAD COACH CURT ONALFO

On the game:
"It's like I said last year, it's one of the hardest places to play in MLS. Between the surface and the crowd it's a hard, hard place to play. I thought the first half was a very well fought evenly played game, second half we made a poor clearance and Toronto was able to capitalize on it. And then I kind of felt like momentum was shifting we were playing well, and then Amado had an absolutely brilliant free kick to put the dagger in our hearts."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS DEFENDER JIMMY CONRAD

On the game:
"Yah, I thought at halftime we came in and regrouped, assessed what was going on and took n a deep breath and started to play a little bit and do what we've been doing up to this point. It's unfortunate the half we played better we gave up two goals, as opposed to the half where they were pretty much all over us. A credit to Toronto -- they did well with their chances. Guevara was a good signing for them, and that was proven true today."

KANSAS CITY WIZARDS GOALKEEPER KEVIN HARTMAN

On the game: "Playing against the wind in the first half is always difficult. We never really gained possession of the ball and played the type of soccer we want to play and ended up defending for 45 straight minutes in the first half, and maybe a bit fortunate to get into halftime nil-nil. I thought we were starting to play a little bit better and then the goal happened. Our possession I thought got even better and better and then we gave up a free kick in probably the most dangerous spot that you can give a free kick a very central location, 24 yards from goal so he can get it up and over the wall. Amado's a huge addition to Toronto FC."
