CARSON, Calif. --
The LA Galaxy will host their third annual Fan Fest on Saturday, March 22, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at The Home Depot Center. This event will serve as the club's official kickoff to the 2008 season, giving fans the opportunity to see their favorite Galaxy players as they prepare for the new season. Best of all, this event is free and open to the entire public.
Fan Fest will kick off at 10:30 a.m. at The Home Depot Center with the club holding an open practice on the stadium field so that all fans can catch a glimpse of the club in action. The day will also feature a series of contests (compete list can be found in the schedule below) that will aim to prove who the biggest and staunchest Galaxy fans really are, interactive booths with Galaxy's supporter's groups where fans can learn the songs and chants that will give The Home Depot Center the best home field advantage in all of MLS, and much more. The event will culminate with the official unveiling of the 2008 Galaxy players and coaches.
The club will also be holding an equipment sale, giving fans the chance to purchase authentic Galaxy gear, and a silent auction where they can bid on rare and original autographed memorabilia from throughout the world of sport. Money raised in the equipment sale will benefit the Los Angeles Galaxy Foundation while money raised in the silent auction will be donated to the Sward Accident Fund, which will aid a local Southern California family who are recovering from a recent tragic accident.
Last year a record crowd of more than 3,000 turned out to the Galaxy's Fan Fest and another big crowd is expected this year so be sure to arrive early and not miss any of the action.
