Guadeloupe shocked many by emerging from Group A thanks to a win against Canada and a draw with Haiti. The tiny Caribbean territory, which is an overseas department of France, then recorded a 2-1 win against Honduras in the quarterfinal stage to set up a meeting with giants Mexico.


For their part, "El Tri" haven't exactly rolled through the tournament, going 2-1-0 in Group C play with victories against Cuba and Panama and a 2-1 loss to Honduras. Hugo Sanchez's team then needed extra time to defeat Costa Rica 1-0 in the quarterfinals.


The winners of Thursday's semifinal games will meet for the Gold Cup championship match on Sunday in Chicago (3 p.m. ET).
