Chivas USA falls to Dynamo in Texas

In Chivas USA's second match of the Texas Pro Soccer Festival, the Red-and-White fell 1-0 to the Houston Dynamo in Cibolo, Tex. Dwayne De Rosario's goal in the 12th minute was the difference between the two teams, who played a close, hard-fought match at the Byron P. Steele II High School Stadium.

Early in the game, Houston took the 1-0 lead when Dynamo forward Chris Wondolowski received a ball at the top of the box and passed back to De Rosario. The midfielder then smashed home a 30-yard shot past Chivas USA goalkeeper Lance Parker.

Arnaldo Salazar had the best opportunity for Chivas USA, almost tying the game in the 82nd minute. Rising to meet a corner kick, his header struck the post and bounced away before being cleared by the Dynamo defense. Justin Braun also had a chance cleared off the line in the 33rd minute. Chukwudi Chijindu came close for the Red-and-White in minute 65, but his shot was touched wide by Houston goalkeeper Tony Caig.

Chivas USA closes its participation in the Texas Pro Soccer Festival this Sunday, when it meets Toronto FC at 3:00 p.m. CT. The team will then return to Los Angeles to continue preseason training.
