LOS ANGELES GALAXY OPENS TENTH SEASON IN LESS THAN TWO WEEKS: The Los Angeles Galaxy will open the 2005 MLS Regular Season against the Columbus Crew on Saturday, April 2 at 4:30 pm (PT). The match will be televised live throughout the Southland on FSN West and will be available on radio in both English (1540 am KMPC) and Spanish (830 am KMXE). The 2005 campaign marks the tenth in Galaxy history, one that will feature several special Galaxy events at The Home Depot Center throughout the year, with details to be announced in the coming weeks.

FIRST OF EIGHT GALAXY COMMUNITY CLINICS TO BE HOSTED WEDNESDAY AT EAST L.A. COLLEGE: The Galaxy's 2005 Community Clinic Series gets underway this Wednesday with an event at East L.A. College. The event will run from 5:00-6:30 pm and will feature the participation of 100-150 pre-selected youths from East Los Angeles and environs who would not ordinarily have the opportunity to attend such an event. Galaxy Director of Coaching Programs Ralph Perez, who also was an assistant on the U.S. team that played in FIFA World Cup Italia 1990, will lead the clinic. Kohl's and NikeGo are sponsoring the entire clinic series.

GALAXY BATTLE FRESNO FUEGO ON SATURDAY EVENING IN CLOVIS: For the second consecutive season, the Galaxy will travel north to Fresno for a battle with the Fresno Fuego (USL Second Division) in an exhibition match. The Galaxy won last year's meeting between the sides, 1-0, thanks to a Carlos Ruiz penalty kick. For more information or to purchase tickets to the match, which will be played Saturday, March 26 at 7 pm at Clovis West High School please contact the Fuego directly at 559-264-6141.

ALBRIGHT, HARTMAN HIGHLIGHT BUSY INTERNATIONAL PHASE FOR GALAXY: The Galaxy will be without several of their international players until just prior to the beginning of the 2005 MLS regular season on April 2. Defender Chris Albright and goalkeeper Kevin Hartman were the first to depart the Galaxy training for a national team camp (prior to club's trip to Spain) - and each played in the USA's 1-0 defeat of Honduras last weekend - Albright for all 90 minutes and Hartman for the second 45. The Guatemalan duo of midfielder Guillermo Ramirez and forward Carlos Ruiz have also been with their national team for an extended period, while Costa Rican defender Michael Umaña will join the ticos this week. All three countries are preparing for the next two matchdays of CONCACAF qualifying to 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany, slated for March 26/27 and March 30.

MÁS GALAXY BREAKS DOWN THE 2005 MLS SEASON THIS WEEK ON KMXE: Más Galaxy, the club's Spanish-Language radio talk show, which airs each Wednesday at 7 pm will offer fans its 2005 MLS season preview. The program, hosted by Troy Santiago, the Spanish-language voice of the Galaxy alongside www.MLSnet.com reporter and local soccer journalist Rene Romano, will feature an in-depth look at the Galaxy and every other MLS team. Remember Galaxy fans, for the latest news on your favorite team, tune in every Wednesday night to Más Galaxy, only on KMXE 830 AM.

CLUB WILL SQUARE OFF WITH PORTLAND TIMBERS IN EXHIBITION IN PORTLAND ON APRIL 13: The Galaxy will make a trip to the Pacific Northwest in mid-April to meet the Portland Timbers (USL First Division) in an exhibition match. The game, slated for 7 pm on Wednesday, April 13 at PGE Park, will be the second-ever meeting between the teams; with the first one won by the Timbers in 2002. It also marks the return to Portland of former Timbers forward Alan Gordon, the reigning A-League (now USL First Division) Rookie of the Year who signed with the Galaxy during the off-season after concluding the 2004 MLS season with them. Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, March 1, and will be available for purchase at area Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at (503) 224-4400 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.
