Career Summary

Amado Guevara began his MLS career on April 11, 2003 when he was signed by the New York Metrostars. Guevara played a vital role to the New York attack in his first season, tallying three goals and ten assists in his first season and establishing himself as one of the league’s rising stars. But Guevara’s sophomore campaign was even better: The Honduran recorded ten goals and ten assists, was named Major League Soccer’s Most Valuable Player, won the Golden Boot, and was tabbed as a member of the MLS’s Best XI.

Guevara spent four seasons in New York before being traded to Chivas USA. He would only play four matches with Chivas before leaving on loan to play for his former club, Honduran side Motagua.

Guevara returned to the MLS for the 2008 and 2009 seasons where he suited up for Toronto FC, scoring nine goals in 46 appearances for the Reds before returning once again to Motagua.
