ORLANDO CITY SC vs. MONTREAL IMPACT
CITRUS BOWL, Orlando, Fla.
October 3, 2015 (WEEK 31, MLS Game #311)
7:30 pm ET (MLS LIVE)

A massive match between two teams just on either side of the red line in the Eastern Conference takes place when Orlando City SC play host to the Montreal Impact on Saturday evening at the Citrus Bowl. Orlando City are sitting four points behind the Impact for sixth place in the conference and the final playoff position, running their winning streak to three games with a 5-2 win at East leaders New York Red Bulls last weekend. The Impact are holding down that final playoff position, their MLS club-record undefeated streak now at six matches following a 2-0 win vs. D.C. United at Stade Saputo last time out.

  • Orlando City SC striker Cyle Larin set the all-time MLS rookie goalscoring record, netting three goals in his club’s 5-2 win against the New York Red Bulls on Friday evening. Larin, the 2015 No. 1 SuperDraft selection out of the Univ. of Connecticut, has 14 goals in his first professional season, surpassing the mark set by Damani Ralph of the Chicago Fire in 2003. Larin also became the first rookie in MLS history to score two hat tricks in the same season.
  • Didier Drogba scored a pair of goals – and now has seven goals in his first six games in MLS – leading the Impact to a 2-0 win against D.C. United on Saturday evening at Stade Saputo. The victory extended the Impact’s undefeated streak to six matches, a club record in their MLS history.
  • The teams are meeting for the third time this season. The Impact took a 2-0 victory in the last meeting, June 20 at Stade Saputo, with goals from Donny Toia and Dominic Oduro. On March 14 at Olympic Stadium, Ignacio Piatti and Jack McInerney staked the Impact to a lead before the game was a half-hour old, but Pedro Ribeiro and Kaká answered back with goals a minute apart in the first half to leave the teams in a 2-2 draw.
