25 MLS players advance to Twitch Rivals SuperGames semifinals

The Twitch Rivals SuperGames tournament has reached the semifinals where 100 professional athletes, including 25 MLS players, will be playing Fortnite for charity against their counterparts from across the major pro sports leagues.


Following the Open Round 1 that completed Monday, the semifinals start at 4 pm ET today. The finals are scheduled for April 22 at 8 pm ET.


The 100 athletes are broken into 50 teams with two competitors per team.

The New England Revolution duo of Matt Turner and Justin Rennicks are in eighth place with 51 points after the Open round, while the Seattle Sounders pairing of Cristian Roldan and Jordan Morris are 14th with 41 points, tied with FC Cincinnati’sSpencer Richey and Jimmy McLaughlin.


FC DallasJesus Ferreira joined forces with Brenden Aaronson of the Philadelphia Union, and they are in 18th with 35 points.


Leading all athletes is the minor league baseball duo of Skylar Arias and Nick Marchese, who have 87 points.
