Report Italian forward Alberto Gilardino is training with the Impact this week, per reports from Canadian soccer pundit Anthony Totera, TSN's Joey Alfieri and Goal.com's Nick Sabetti. Per Alfieri, the 35-year-old Gilardino, who is tied for ninth all-time in Serie A's scoring charts and was a 2006 World Cup winner, is not on trial with the club ("yet") and just getting in shape on his own.
Trade Quebec outlet TVA Sports reported on Aug. 10 that the Montreal Impact have traded M Calum Mallace to Seattle in exchange for a 2019 fourth-round SuperDraft pick. The center mid has played for Montreal since their 2012 MLS expansion season. The trade was confirmed on Aug. 10.
Update Following reports he skipped out on training, Ballou Tabla wrote an apology for the incident and shared it on social media on Aug. 9. In his message, he reiterated his commitment to helping the Impact reach their goals this year.
Report ESPN FC reported on Monday morning that Impact prodigy Ballou Tabla wants to leave the club after the team "rejected several offers for his services," per sources close to the player. Tabla, 18, has been one of the revelations of the season for Montreal. The Impact academy product is under contract with the club through December 2018.
Signing TSN Sports Radio host Tony Molinaro tweeted a rumor on Tuesday that the Impact had signed 22-year-old midfielder Samuel Piette from Spanish side CD Izarra, where the Canadian international made 32 league appearances in the 2016-17 Segunda Division B season. Montreal announced the transfer and signing of Piette on August 3.
Rumor The fan community Boca Juniors France has tweeted that 23-year-old Boca forward Nazareno Solis is nearing a move to the Impact. Solis has never scored a league goal for Boca after scoring 17 over 71 appearances in Argentina's lower divisions with Villa Dalmine and Talleres Cordoba.
Signing Impact technical director Adam Braz told reporters on Tuesday that Montreal are on the verge of acquiring Romanian defender Deian Boldor as the latest acquisition from from Serie A club Bologna. Impact owner Joey Saputo also owns Bologna, and Montreal have mined the club for several important signings – including Blerim Dzemaili and Matteo Mancosu – in recent seasons. Montreal announced the signing on July 20.
Report The Montreal Impact have interest in San Lorenzo winger Ezequiel Cerutti, according to Argentine journalist Cesar Luis Merlo. Cerutti, 25, joined San Lorenzo in January 2016 and has one goal in 21 league appearances for the club. He has five goals and 11 assists in 58 career games in the Argentine Primera. According to reports, San Lorenzo have put a $5 million price tag on Cerutti. 
Report According to Italian outlet Corriere di Bologna, talks between Bologna and AC Milan's Andrea Poli are progressing well, with the midfielder apparently nearing a deal that would include a future with Montreal. Impact owner Joey Saputo also owns Bologna.
