Signing Just prior to the roster freeze deadline, Dallas made one more addition to the roster in the form of former academy product Eduardo "Pollo" Cortes. Cortes, 24, played in the FCD academy from 2009-2011, attended college at IUPUI from 2012-2015 and was on the roster of the USL's St. Louis FC in 2016.
Rumor Reports out of Argentina say that San Lorenzo – one of the country's biggest clubs – have made bids for the FC Dallas duo of F Maximiliano Urruti and M Michael Barrios. When contacted by MLSsoccer.com for comment, Dallas technical director Fernando Clavijo said via a club spokesperson that, "With the quality of players we have here at FC Dallas, it's no surprise that there is consistently interest in them." ESPN FC's Jeff Carlisle reported on Tuesday that there was a "50/50" chance of either deal getting done.
Signing FC Dallas announced on Aug. 9 the signing of Venezuelan M Luis Gonzalez. The 26-year-old, a Venezuelan international, joins having previously spent his entire pro career in his native country.
Report Reports over the weekend linked FC Dallas to Honduran left back Carlos Sanchez and veteran Argentine midfielder Maxi Rodriguez. When reached for comment by MLSsoccer.com on Monday, however, FC Dallas technical director Fernando Clavijo said via a team spokesperson that "FC Dallas is not involved in any transfer discusssions with Carlos Sanchez or Maxi Rodriguez."
Report As reported on Monday by FourFourTwo's Paul Tenorio, FC Dallas technical director Fernando Clavijo acknowledged foreign interest in US national team midfielder Kellyn Acosta, acknowledged that the team is preparing for a potential depature and said that "he will probably go to Europe in the next 12 months." 
Report On June 28, Metro.us reported that center back Walker Zimmerman has become a target of German Bundesliga club Hoffenheim. Zimmerman has also reportedly drawn interest from other teams in the European nation's top two flights, per the report. FC Dallas technical director Fernando Clavijo told MLSsoccer.com about the rumors: “With the caliber of players we have at FC Dallas, it would be a shock if other teams weren’t interested in players on our roster. We are committed to developing the best club in MLS with the focus, as always, on succeeding both on and off the pitch.”
Report La Tercera reported on Jun. 16 that FC Dallas is interested in Colombian midfielder Macnelly Torres. The 32-year-old has spent most of his career in South America (with a single season spent in Mexico) and is a Colombian international. The report notes, however, that Dallas may be competing with Chilean powerhouse Colo Colo for Torres' services. He has previously played for Colo Colo.
Renewal Just a day after further reports linking Dallas to a pair of international goalkeepers emerged, the club announced that it had inked current No. 1 'keeper Jesse Gonzalez to a new, four-year deal. The renewal was originally reported by Goal.com's Ives Galarcep, who also noted that the team had preliminary discussions with Leon's William Yarbrough before both Gonzalez and Yarbrough finalized new deals with their current clubs.
Report Dallas have been linked with a pair of international goalkeepers this week, with reports stating that there is an offer on the table for Mexico-based U.S. goalkeeper William Yarbrough and that the club's interest in longtime Mexico No. 1 Guillermo Ochoa persists.
