Report: Eastern Conference club makes offer for DeAndre Yedlin

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

Former Seattle Sounders standout and current Newcastle United defender DeAndre Yedlin is being pursued by an Eastern Conference MLS club, according to a Monday report from Ives Galarcep.

Per Galarcep, an unnamed team has made a TAM offer for the services of Yedlin ā€” an offer the player is said to be considering. The 27-year-old has been the subject of various rumors in recent weeks as his contract with Newcastle nears its end, with some linking him back to MLS and others to clubs in Europe.

Yedlin has seen an uptick in playing time with Newcastle over their last stretch of games, starting four straight matches and demonstrating some solid form.

Yedlin's reported suitor being an Eastern Conference team is an interesting wrinkle, as the most intuitive MLS fit for him would probably be a return to Seattle, where he first burst onto the scene as a Homegrown star in 2013, making 56 league appearances before earning a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.

Yedlin has remained in England since, doing a stint with Sunderland before starting his lengthy run with Newcastle, but has consistently spoken of his affection for the Sounders. According to Galarcep, the Sounders inquired about Yedlin last summer, but determined that a deal wasn't financially feasible.

Yedlin has been with Newcastle since 2016 and has made more than 100 appearances for the EPL side. He also has 62 career caps for the US men's national team.
