Greg Vanney: "Very good chance" Michael Bradley returns for Toronto FC this weekend

Michael Bradley - Toronto FC - August 18, 2020

After over six weeks on the sidelines, Toronto FC head coach Greg Vanney revealed that midfielder Michael Bradley will likely feature in their Sunday match against Atlanta United (7:30 pm ET | TSN 1/4, MLS LIVE on ESPN+ in US).

Bradley, Toronto’s captain, has been out since early September after suffering a Grade 2 MCL strain in a match against the Montreal Impact.

“As far as Michael, very good chance that he could be available this weekend,” Vanney said. “He’s been training full for the last few days, so just as long as we don’t have any reactions, we’d like to get him some time. This being the last game of a series and then going into another series, we’ll try to figure out what that right number of minutes looks like to get him up and going again.”

Even without Bradley, Toronto have moved atop the league table and lead the Eastern Conference standings with 38 points from 18 matches. They’ve already clinched a spot in the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs, with Marky Delgado and Jonathan Osorio often playing in deep-lying positions.

With five games left in the regular season, TFC are hoping to get Bradley back at 90 minutes fitness. Bradley, 33, has played in an even 200 games for Toronto and recorded 12 goals alongside 29 assists. The US men’s national team veteran has also appeared in 151 games on the international stage.
