USMNT midfielder Tyler Adams returns to RB Leipzig training after back injury

Tyler Adams - RB Leipzig - celebrates game-winner in Champions League

After missing RB Leipzig’s most recent match on October 3 due to a minor back injury, Tyler Adams is back to training with his Bundesliga club.

Adams started and played all 90 minutes in RB Leipzig’s first two games, but missed their third match of the 2020-2021 season against FC Schalke 04.

The 21-year-old struggled with injuries last season, suffering from a four-month-long groin injury only to come back and pull a calf muscle. Outside of his injuries, Adams is thriving with Leipzig, with head coach Julian Nagelsmann entrusting Adams in the deep-lying midfield role.

RB Leipzig (2-1-0) currently sit at the top of the Bundesliga and travel to second-place FC Augsburg (2-1-0) on Saturday. Their first Champions League group-stage match is three days later on October 20 against Turkish club İstanbul Başakşehir.
