San Jose Earthquakes top list of best comeback teams in MLS since 2011

Jackson Yueill - San Jose Earthquakes - celebrates game-winner vs. LAFC with teammates

A dramatic stoppage-time goal is probably the most exciting play that can happen in a soccer game, and there's been no shortage of them this MLS season, both at the MLS is Back Tournament and in the return to regular-season play.

That got us to thinking: Which team holds the title as the preeminent comeback kids of MLS?

We looked back at the numbers over the last 10 years, and the team that's pulled out the most results in stoppage time since 2011 is none other than the San Jose Earthquakes. They've managed that feat a remarkable 25 times in that timeframe.

The Quakes padded their stats last weekend when they shocked LAFC with a stoppage-time tally from Jackson Yueill to pull out a 2-1 victory. They also benefitted from a Shea Salinas goal in the 80th minute, making it a true comeback effort.

You can check out the top five below, which also includes the Seattle Sounders, Vancouver Whitecaps, Philadelphia Union and Real Salt Lake.
