Columbus Crew SC players, staff take a tour of the new stadium

Columbus Crew SC are in countdown mode for the scheduled opening of their new stadium in summer 2021, and the players from the current Supporters' Shield frontrunners took a tour of the new digs on Thursday to get their first glimpse from inside the in-progress venue.

The stadium is located at the center of Columbus' Confluence Village neighborhood and will hold around 20,000 fans.

"It's beautiful," Crew head coach Caleb Porter said. "It makes me happy to see it. Obviously we know we have a little bit of time before we're actually in the stadium with our supporters and winning games, but it's nice to have something to look forward to, to look ahead towards, and I think it makes us all as players and coaches very excited and happy and we can't wait for it to be here."

Watch a behind-the-scenes look at the tour released on the club's website below, and check out renderings of the stadium here.
