Expansion brethren Nashville SC and Inter Miami CF meet for the first time Sunday night at Nissan Stadium.

Nashville SC are looking to rebound from consecutive defeats, including a 2-1 loss at Orlando City SC Wednesday, while Inter Miami CF are hoping momentum continues from a first-ever victory, defeating the Lions in the opening of Inter Miami CF Stadium.

Nashville SC

Nashville SC suffered a fourth loss of their first MLS season, losing to Orlando City SC 3-1 Wednesday at Exploria Stadium. It was the only match played on a six-match docket as players across MLS made their voices heard in the fight against systemic racism and police brutality. But the result was the last thing on the players' minds after the match.

"I have no thoughts about the soccer game," Dax McCarty said. "Obviously coming into the locker room, seeing the news of everything that had happened, after the game, soccer takes a backseat. So, quite frankly, I don't really care about what happened on the field tonight."

After having to be withdrawn from the MLS is Back Tournament, Nashville gained an impressive four points from two games on the road against FC Dallas. Now returning home for the first time since the opening day of the season, Gary Smith's side will be looking to get a second win from their inaugural campaign.

Inter Miami CF

Inter Miami were set to host Atlanta United Wednesday night, before players opted to follow the example set by NBA's Milwaukee Bucks, who didn't report to the court for their scheduled playoff game against the Orlando Magic that afternoon amid protests against the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

"Black Players for Change asked us not to play and at that point we respect them and we had to respect why we wear these shirts and that's to make a change and to have our voices heard and support the justice in this country," AJ DeLaGarza said. "So I think we had to make a very tough decision in front of our coaches minutes before walking out here.

"Athletes have a huge platform and we have to use that right now. Obviously, the shooting the other night in Wisconsin has an effect on us. That's what we're trying to do."

Back on the road on Sunday, Miami will be looking to pick up where they left off in last weekend's impressive win over rivals Orlando, when young striker Julian Carranza scored his first two goals for the club.
