It’s time to settle in for another MLS Today show, as hosts Calen Carr and Susannah Collins are here to discuss a wild 24 hours at the MLS is Back Tournament. Be sure to tune in at 11 am ET on MLSsoccer.com, Twitter and Facebook for all the latest.
Orlando City and the Philadelphia Union are both into the knockout round after wins over NYCFC and Inter Miami, respectively, on Tuesday night. They’ve separated themselves atop Group A, and created some buzzworthy talking points along the way.
Are the Union the cream of the crop in the Eastern Conference? What about Chris Mueller, with his three goals through two matches and four on the year? And the early returns from Oscar Pareja as Orlando’s head coach? Pretty promising.
There’s also a lookahead to Wednesday’s sole match, when the Vancouver Whitecaps and San Jose Earthquakes clash in Group B (9 pm ET | TUDN/Twitter; TSN in Canada). Group reshuffling leaves Vancouver as the last team yet to play, while San Jose are looking to build off a strong tie against the Seattle Sounders last weekend.
