Orlando City forward Chris Mueller scored a spectacular brace inside 10 minutes of the Group A match against NYCFC. It set the Lions on their way to a 3-1 win which helped them clinch a spot in the MLS is Back Tournament Round of 16.
Mueller now finds himself atop the charts for the Golden Boot presented by Audi. It was the first time that the 23 year old has scored two goals in a game in his third MLS season with Orlando.
The University of Wisconsin product, who was picked No. 6 overall by the Lions in the 2018 SuperDraft, already has a goal at the MLS is Back Tournament, scoring against Inter Miami in the team's 2-1 Group A win.
Mueller took the league by storm as a rookie in 2018 and finished second in Rookie of the Year voting with three goals and seven assists as he became a fan favorite of the Lions faithful.
After a five-goal sophomore season, Mueller already has four goals in four regular season games thus far in 2020.
