MLS Today: July 11, 2020

The first weekend of the MLS is Back Tournament is here, and so is another MLS Today show. Charlie Davies and David Gass will host at 11 am ET, and the whole ensemble can be found at, Twitter and Facebook.

They’ll dissect last night’s 0-0 draw between the Seattle Sounders and San Jose Earthquakes, and how that result could benefit Matias Almeyda’s group.

There’s also a lookahead to Saturday's first Group E tilt (8 pm ET | FOX, TUDN; TSN in Canada) between Atlanta United and the New York Red Bulls. Can the Five Stripes prove their worth without Josef Martinez? How will their formation look, and how does it impact Ezequiel Barco and Pity Martinez?

After the Atlanta-RBNY match comes another edition of the Hell is Real derby between Columbus Crew SC and FC Cincinnati. That Saturday nightcap (10:30 pm ET | FS1, TUDN; TSN in Canada) has plenty of storylines, including if Columbus could be a serious contender to win it all.

While eyes turn to Group E today, the hosts catch up live with Portland Timbers forward Jeremy Ebobisse. He’s been particularly active around the Black Lives Matter movement, and is committed to keeping the conversation going.
