If you were lucky enough to experience it in 2018, it was a moment you won't soon forget.
Midfielder Collin Martin came out publicly ahead of Minnesota United FC's Pride Night game on June 29, at the time becoming the only active openly gay male professional athlete in the five major team sports in the United States and Canada.
Although Martin didn't make it into that Dallas match, he appeared a few days later in a dramatic July 4 home game against Toronto FC which featured a memorable chip hat trick by Darwin Quintero. But it was Martin's substitute appearance in the 79th minute for teammate Rasmus Schuller that was arguably the highlight of the match.
The then-23 year old entered the field to a standing ovation from the supporters at TCF Bank Stadium. Watch the moment in the video above.
