San Jose Earthquakes-MetroStars 10-goal stunner on this day 12 years ago

Talk about a five-aside.

On this day back in 2008, the San Jose Earthquakes and MetroStars played in one of the highest scoring games in league history — a 5-5 draw at Buck Shaw Stadium.

The shootout is tied for second highest scoring game, one goal behind the record set by the LA Galaxy’s 7-4 win over the Colorado Rapids in 1996.
