MLS Classics: Late drama in MLS Cup 2006 - Houston Dynamo vs. New England Revolution

On Nov. 12, 2006, a sellout crowd of 22,427, many of which were newly-minted Orange-clad Houston Dynamo fans, packed what was then called Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas for MLS Cup 2006.

It pitted a Dynamo team in their first season in a new city against a New England Revolution side that suffered MLS Cup heartbreak twice before, including the previous year against the LA Galaxy — a game also played in Frisco.

They were also two determined sides who were nearly impossible to separate until the very final kick of the ball, providing tension and drama that secured this match its classic status.
