The Colorado Rapids have made a habit of late winners early this season and they'll look to remain unbeaten when they meet a Vancouver Whitecaps side that returns to BC Place off an emotional road win against the LA Galaxy.
The Whitecaps (1-1-0) bounced back from a Week 1 home defeat to stun the Galaxy in Carson. Tosaint Ricketts scored the lone goal in the 74th minute, putting the finishing touches on a spectacular run by Ali Adnan. Lucas Cavallini had a chance to tack onto the lead, but his stoppage-time penalty kick was saved by David Bingham.
The Rapids (2-0-0) have followed the same script through the first two weeks of the 2020 season, with a late winner in a 2-1 victory. Drew Moor provided the heroics against Orlando City SC with the 90th-minute winner, eight minutes after Chris Mueller leveled for the Lions. Younes Namli opened his MLS account to put the hosts in front in the 64th minute.
