United are unbeaten in their last nine matches against Colorado in MLS (W5 D4), equalling their longest unbeaten run against any team in their history in the competition (Chicago Fire: nine games from March 2014 to September 2016). They have won three successive games against the Rapids and could equal their longest winning streak over Colorado in the club’s MLS history (four games from August 1996 to June 1997).
  • Only Atlanta United (3) were shut out on fewer occasions than the Rapids (4, tied with LAFC) in MLS last season.

  • There have been 29 goals scored in the last six MLS matches between Houston and the LA Galaxy, an average of 4.83 goals per match. The Dynamo won three of the six meetings (D2 L1), while the Galaxy scored at least two goals in all six matches.
  • The Dynamo are unbeaten in their last eight MLS season openers (W6 D2), dating back to a 0-1 loss to Philadelphia Union back in March 2011.
  • Including their playoff match against LAFC, there were 59 goals in the Galaxy’s final 11 matches last season (5.36 per match). The Galaxy both scored and conceded at least once in all 11 of these matches.

  • Only one of the last eight teams to debut in MLS have won their inaugural match, dating back to Portland Timbers in 2011 (LAFC 1-0 Seattle in 2018). Orlando City and New York City FC drew against each other in both team’s inaugural match in 2015, while the other five teams that joined the league in that time lost their opening match.
  • Of Major League Soccer’s last nine new teams, only one has failed to score in their inaugural match in the competition: Montreal Impact losing 0-2 to Vancouver Whitecaps in 2012.

  • Seattle have never lost a home MLS match against the Fire (W4 D2), though Chicago managed a 1-1 draw at CenturyLink field in their last visit in 2018. The Fire have never won an MLS match in the North-West (D4 L12 in 16 total visits to Seattle, Portland and Vancouver).
  • The Sounders won their last six matches last season (including playoffs), the second-longest winning streak in the club’s MLS history (nine straight in July-September 2018). Seattle outscored opponents 14-5 in those matches.
  • Chicago haven’t won any of their last 10 season opening matches dating back to a 3-1 win at FC Dallas in 2009 (D3 L7), the longest active winless run in season openers in MLS. Only Colorado (11 straight from 1996 to 2006) have gone winless in more than 10 straight season opening matches in MLS history.
