MLS Preseason 2020: Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez makes LA Galaxy debut in 2-1 loss to Toronto FC

Cristian Pavon - LA Galaxy - Omar Gonzalez - Toronto FC - preseason 2020

Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez made his preseason debut for the LA Galaxy but it was fellow Designated Player Cristian Pavon who provided the fireworks for the Galaxy, bagging a terrific goal against Toronto FC. However, it was not enough to stave off defeat as the 10-man Galaxy fell 2-1.

Pavon opened the scoring in the 37th minute, making an excellent solo run from inside his own half before beating TFC 'keeper Quentin Westberg from well outside the box.

That goal came with the Galaxy down a man following a straight red card to Aleksandar Katai five minutes earlier. Toronto would make the man advantage count on the stroke of halftime when Ifunanyachi Achara, their first-round pick in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft, found the equalizer. Toronto would then find the winner 13 minutes from time through penalty kick conversion by Alejandro Pozuelo.
