A day after the news that Bayern Munich fans had selected Vancouver Whitecaps product and Canada national team star Alphonso Davies as player of the month for December, the dynamic 19-year-old showed signs there is more to come.
A week before Bayern and other Bundesliga teams officially return to competition from winter break, Davies scored this stylish goal in a friendly against Nuremburg Saturday, using his blistering speed and some pinpoint combination play to draw his side level.
Davies has played every minute of Bayern's last 13 competitive matches while serving primarily as a dual-threat left back, and received 41 percent of the fan vote for the club's player of the month honors.
To date this season, Davies has a goal and four assists between play in the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League.
Bayern Munich return to Bundesliga play on Jan. 18 when they visit Hertha Berlin, who are coached by former US national team manager Jurgen Klinsmann.
