Reports: Orlando near deal with Corinthians for Brazilian midfielder Junior Urso

Junior Urso - with Corinthians

TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Reports

Orlando City SC are soon bringing aboard another Brazilian as Oscar Pareja's overhaul ramps up, according to a Brazilian media report that's been confirmed by other outlets in both countries.

Journalist Benjamin Back of FOX Sports Brazil says the Lions are in talks with Corinthians over a transfer move for Junior Urso, a deep-lying midfielder with ample experience in his homeland as well as two stints abroad in the Chinese Super League. SBNation's The Mane Land and GloboEsporte are also reporting as much.

The 30-year-old is known for his range, bite and occasional strikes from long distance. He helped the Sao Paulo club win the Campeonato Paulista this year and is apparently the subject of a $900,000 transfer bid from Orlando, a number that some reports suggest is below market rate due to the MLS clubā€™s willingness to relieve Corinthians from bonus payments owed to the player.

Junior Urso is said to favor the Orlando move, in part because theyā€™re offering a four-year contract as opposed to the shorter deal heā€™s currently on with Corinthians. He would become the third Brazilian, and fifth Portuguese speaker, on the Lions' roster, though more may be on the way with OCSC also connected to Palmeiras center back Antonio Carlos.
