Chelsea couldn't hang on for a road win in UEFA Champions League play on Wednesday, but their 2-2 draw at Valencia saw US national team star Christian Pulisic play a key role.

Pulisic scored a go-ahead goal for Chelsea a few minutes into the second half, following a Video Review which gave the goal after it had initially been chalked off.

But while Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga saved a Dani Parejo penalty later in the half to preserve the English side's lead, Valencia had the last word, with Daniel Wass' shot/cross beating Arrizabalaga late in the game to split the points.

Pulisic played the full 90 in the match, with the draw leaving Chelsea and Valencia level in Group H on points, eight apiece, with one matchday to go. The top two teams in the group will advance to the knockout rounds; Ajax lead the group with 10 points, and Valencia currently sit in second place above Chelsea thanks to the head-to-head tiebreaker. Valencia travel to Ajax, while Chelsea host already-eliminated Lille on the final matchday.
