The Seattle Sounders just parted company with winger Victor Rodriguez, MVP of their 2019 MLS Cup triumph over Toronto FC, and a new report suggests they’re considering a move for another Spaniard this winter.

Spanish publication El Periodico claims the Sounders are eyeing Real Zaragoza holding midfielder Inigo Eguaras as a target for when the international transfer window opens next month, adding that “other MLS teams also now have the name of Eguaras on their agenda,” without naming the clubs in question.

According to the report, Seattle VP of soccer/sporting director Chris Henderson attended a Zaragoza match to evaluate Nigerian winger James Igbekeme – reportedly a Toronto target earlier this year – and Eguaras, 27, caught his eye. It appears he'd likely be a TAM-enabled acquisition if he would up in the Emerald City.

Once a La Liga side but currently competing in Spain’s second division, where they sit in sixth place at the moment, Zaragoza also had Georgian winger Giorgi “Papu” Papunashvili linked to New York City FC this week.
