The two most recent MLS Cup champions go head-to-head in an Eastern Conference Final with a return to MLS Cup at stake.

Reigning champs Atlanta United, the No. 2 seed in the East, have already recorded two shutout wins in the opening two rounds of the Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs and manager Frank de Boer praised the club's maturity and the big steps taken in its progress throughout his first year in charge. Both those matches were played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium -- a 1-0 win over the New England Revolution and a 2-0 win over the Philadelphia Union.

Toronto FC, finalists in two of the last three MLS Cups and winners in 2017, also played two postseason matches thus far. They survived a scare from D.C. United, exploding for four goals in extra time en route to a 5-1 win. Then the Reds proceeded to oust No. 1 seed NYCFC on a last-minute penalty kick 2-1.

Toronto have played three times in Atlanta, tying their first two matches in 2017 and 2018 by an identical scoreline of 2-2. On their last trip to Atlanta earlier this year on May 8, Toronto were shut out 2-0 on goals from Tito Villalba and Julian Gressel. That turned out to be Toronto's first and only loss to Atlanta in six all-time matches (2W-1L-3D). In the second meeting of 2019 on June 26, the Reds handed Atlanta a 3-2 loss in Toronto on an Alejandro Pozuelo stoppage-time penalty kick.

The winner of the match advances to 2019 MLS Cup on Sunday, November 10 (at 3 pm ET on ABC, Univision, TUDN, TSN, TVAS).
