Exports: DeAndre Yedlin keeps clean sheet with Newcastle vs. Man United

DeAndre Yedlin, Miguel Almiron - Newcastle United - during warmups

With European leagues in action before the October international window, there were several Americans in action from the weekend that was. Here's the latest:

Yedlin, Newcastle down Manchester United

Over in the Premier League, Newcastle grabbed a much-needed win over a team they traditionally struggle against, Manchester United, winning 1-0 on Sunday at St. James' Park. Matthew Longstaff scored the winner, and DeAndre Yedlin (Seattle Sounders) started and went the distance at right back. Another MLS alum, Miguel Almiron (Atlanta United) started for Newcastle and was subbed out late, in part to take some time off the clock.

Sargent starts in Werder Bremen draw

US international Josh Sargent started in Werder Bremen's 2-2 draw at Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday in the Bundesliga. Sargent lasted 72 minutes before being substituted, playing on the right side of a forward line for Werder, who currently sit in 11th place.

Miazga features as Reading's woes continue

Matt Miazga (New York Red Bulls) started for Reading in the English Championship in a 1-0 road loss to Bristol City on Saturday. Miazga, on loan from Chelsea, played in a three-man central defense, but it was to no avail, as Reading sit in the relegation places in 22nd as they've struggled to start the season.

Pulisic offers assist in Chelsea cameo

USMNT star Christian Pulisic has found playing time hard to come by early in his tenure at Chelsea, but he made the most of his time on Sunday, coming off the bench in the 80th minute and assisting fellow sub Michi Batshuayi's 89th minute capper in a 4-1 rout over Southampton. Chelsea, managed by former NYCFC player Frank Lampard, are in fifth place in the Premier League.
