The Professional Referee Organization (PRO) has released the latest edition of "Inside Video Review," in which viewers get a peek at the Video Review process for recent decisions in MLS play, as well as a quick review of those reviews for their accuracy.
This week, they break down the double-encroachment call on a Vancouver Whitecaps FC penalty kick, referring to the VAR protocol for situations like that one. They also examine the review of a goal scored by the Philadelphia Union, overturned by Video Review due to an offside in the buildup.
A second Vancouver play was also highlighted, in their second game of Week 26 against NYCFC, in which a penalty call was reversed upon Video Review.
The final play shown was of an off-the-ball foul committed in FC Dallas' win over FC Cincinnati, a play the on-field referee missed because he was standing ahead of the players involved and looking elsewhere on the field.
