MLS Disciplinary Committee suspends Portland's Renzo Zambrano extra game

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has issued one suspension and two fines following Week 26 of the 2019 MLS regular season.


Zambrano contact with match official, failure to leave field

The Disciplinary Committee has issued an additional match suspension (two games total) to Portland Timbers midfielder Renzo Zambrano and fined him an undisclosed amount for aggressive behavior toward a match official. The incident took place during second-half stoppage time of Portland's game against Real Salt Lake on Aug. 31. Zambrano, who received a red card for the incident, will serve the first game of his suspension when he returns from international duty on Sept. 15 against D.C. United and will serve the second game of his suspension on Sept. 18 against the New York Red Bulls.

The Disciplinary has also fined Zambrano an undisclosed amount for failure to leave the field in a timely manner after receiving his red card against Real Salt Lake on Aug. 31.


Youssef Dahha bench behavior

The Disciplinary has fined Vancouver Whitecaps assistant coach Youssef Dahha an undisclosed amount for violation of the league's bench behavior policy and failing to leave the bench area in a timely and orderly manner following his dismissal in Vancouver's game against New York City FC on Aug. 31.
