The US men's national team will play their inaugural Concacaf Nations League game at Audi Field in October, the federation announced Monday. The USMNT's match against Cuba on October 11 will be their first foray into the new competition.

After playing 24 matches at RFK Stadium in D.C., this is the team's second appearance at Audi Field.

“We are excited to be competing in the inaugural Concacaf Nations League where not only is a championship on the line but we are able to play meaningful games in a competitive format," head coach Gregg Berhalter said in a media release. "We have seen how valuable the Nations League has been for Europe, and for this region it’s another important opportunity to raise the level of competition. As a team that represents the United States, there is something incredibly meaningful about playing in the nation’s capital, and we aim to produce not only a good result but a good performance.”

The United States were drawn in Group A alongside Canada and Cuba in League A, the top tier in Nations League. The four group winners in League A will advance to the semifinals while the bottom teams will be relegated to Group B after each team plays each other home and away.

Cuba finished bottom of Group A in the 2019 Gold Cup, losing all three of their group stage matches by a combined score of 17-0. The USMNT fell in the final to Mexico.
