Chicago Fire vs. Montreal Impact | 2019 MLS Match Preview

2019 MLS Regular Season Week 23
Chicago Fire vs. Montreal Impact
SeatGeek Stadium – Bridgeview
August 10 – 9:00 PM ET

The Chicago Fire will try to make it two wins in a row for just the second time this season when they host the Montreal Impact Saturday night at SeatGeek Stadium.

The Fire (6-10-9) moved within six points of the playoff line in the Eastern Conference with a 1-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo last Saturday, their first road win of the season. Nemanja Nikolic scored the lone goal in first-half stoppage time for Chicago, who have secured points in three of their last four games.

The Impact (10-12-3) are trending the opposite direction, with a 6-3 loss at the Colorado Rapids the club's fifth defeat in the last six league games. Montreal are hoping a 2-1 win over Cavalry FC in the first leg of the Canadian Championship semifinals Wednesday can provide the needed boost on the weekend. Ignacio Piatti scored a goal in each half before Sergio Camacho pulled the visitors to within a goal in the 69th minute.

This is the second meeting this season, with the Impact winning 1-0 at Stade Saputo in April, Omar Browne breaking the stalemate six minutes from full time.
